History

The history of this one of the oldest and most famous European manufacturers began in 1872.in Milan, where its headquarters are located to this day. Engineer Giovanni Battista Pirelli returns from Switzerland, where he received his education. The young man, who recently turned 23 years old, Burns with the desire to open his own business related to the production of rubber products. The choice is not accidental-in Switzerland Pirelli studied chemistry. Since it was difficult for him to act independently, he finds several companions for himself. By joint efforts, they acquire a small factory, the staff of which consisted of several dozen people. The company was named G. B. Pirelli & C.
